Proofreading/Copyediting Work - 'Zero Hour Z Day'
September 15, 2020
This is something slightly different from my usual work. In 2016 I had the honour of editing the final chapters of military historian Jonathan Porter's debut book, 'Zero Hour Z Day'. A highly informative yet poignant read, it chronicles the actions of XIII Corps between the villages of Maricourt and Mametz on the first day of the Battle of the Somme, 1 July 1916. I was entrusted with proofreading and copyediting the final chapters, to improve clarity and remove any errors in terms of spelling, grammar, punctuation and syntax. I have recently finished working on Porter's follow-up book, to be released later this year.
"I must thank Lauren Johnson for stepping in during the last few weeks before going to print, proofreading the remaining few chapters and going over the parts where I decided to add more information or re-write. Without her skills and direction the book could never have been completed." - Jonathan Porter
